Privacy Policy

The short version. We collect what is needed to run your account and keep the service working. We do not sell anything to anyone. Payment card details never reach our servers.
This policy explains what United Breakers ("we", "us") collects when you use unitedbreakers.com and the overlays it serves, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
Account information
- Your email address.
- A cryptographic hash of your password. We never store the password itself and cannot recover it, which is why a reset issues a new one rather than telling you the old one.
- If you sign in with Google: your Google account identifier, your email address, and your display name. We do not receive your Google password and we request no access to your Google data beyond that.
Content you create
- Your overlay settings: colours, themes, reveal length, volumes, ticker messages.
- Your break boards, including any buyer names you type in.
- Audio files you upload.
We do not ask for, and have no way to record, prices or payment details for anything you sell during a break.
Technical and usage information
- IP address, browser user agent, and approximate country, recorded when you sign in and when your overlays connect.
- Pages you visit on our site, and which link brought you to us.
- How you use the product: when a break starts and stops, how many teams were marked, which overlays were connected.
We use this to keep the service running, to investigate problems, to detect accounts being shared in breach of the terms, and to understand which parts of the product are actually used.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers and we cannot see it. We store the Stripe identifiers for your customer record and your subscription, your plan, its status, and its renewal date. Stripe's own handling of your data is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the service to function. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third party trackers.
- Session cookie. Keeps you signed in. Expires after about 30 days, or immediately when you sign out.
- Referral cookie. If you arrived through a referral link, remembers which one so the right discount is applied. Expires after 30 days.
- Analytics cookie. A random identifier that lets us count visitors without knowing who they are.
How long we keep things
- Account data and your content: until you delete your account. Cancelling a subscription does not delete anything.
- Detailed activity records, including IP addresses: 90 days.
- Sign in locations: up to 400 days, so we can spot account sharing across a full season.
- Aggregated statistics that cannot identify you (daily totals and counts): kept indefinitely.
- Billing records: retained as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Stripe, for payments and subscriptions.
- Resend, to deliver account emails such as password resets.
- Cloudflare, which sits in front of our servers to keep the service available and secure.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server the service is on.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to.
Your overlay links
Your overlay URL contains a secret token. Anyone who has that link can see your overlay, though they cannot control it. Treat it like a password, and do not show it on stream. You can rotate it at any time from your account page, which immediately kills the old link.
Files you upload are stored at addresses that are not guessable but are not individually access controlled. Do not upload anything you would mind another person hearing if they somehow had the exact address.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and the data attached to it. Some billing records must be kept for legal reasons.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including under the GDPR or the CCPA. We apply the above to everyone regardless of location. Ask us through the support channel below.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Overlay tokens and Stream Deck keys are independent secrets so that being able to watch never means being able to control. Access to the production server is restricted to the operator.
Children
This service is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell account holders by email.
